Celebrating winners of the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s inaugural scholarship

Living with neuromuscular disease comes with unique challenges, but the resilience of those affected is truly inspiring. Through my work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), I’ve heard many stories from families about how their loved ones persevere to live as normal a life as possible, with the support they receive from the MDA playing a crucial role.
These stories are a reminder not only of the incredible strength of individuals afflicted by neurodegenerative diseases, but also the meaningful role that the MDA plays in helping them achieve their dreams. And it’s this spirit of resilience that also makes the pursuit of higher education not only possible, but transformative—especially in today’s world, where opportunities for those with disabilities are expanding.
That’s why Certinia is proud to support the MDA’s goal of making their path to success smoother by sponsoring the MDA’s inaugural college scholarship program, leveraging medical advances to open new doors for students with disabilities.
This new program grants ten merit-based college scholarships at $5,000 each to students living with neuromuscular disease, providing them the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams. Beyond financial support, recipients receive access to a supportive community, consultation hours for transitioning to higher education, and supplemental materials to aid their college life.
