Day 2 Highlights – Lots of Cloud and a Little Rain

After a busy day on Monday (w/ Booths set up/duty, acquisitions announcement, and Certinia.Community day), day 2 started off with a bang at the Marc Benioff Keynote.

Here are some day 2 highlights:

  • Huey Lewis and News kicked off the keynote as the house band in front of thousands of people PACKED in the Moscone auditorium
  • Marc Benioff made some major announcements as usual – announcing Salesforce1 (a new platform for mobile applications) and introducing ExactTarget Marketing Cloud
  • Salesforce.com formed a new partnership with Hewlett-Packard, a multi-tenant cloud offering, called Salesforce Superpod
  • Marc: “The best drug I ever took was philanthropy.” His dedication to the foundation and the UCSF hospital has been so inspiring
  • Former supermodel Petra Nemcova now founder of Happy Hearts Fund told her heartrenching story of surviving a tsunami
  • Certinia.com has already given out more t-shirts than last year. Good feedbacks by the attendees on our booths/t-shirts (shake that back office)
  • Thanks Jocelyn Fennewald and Machell Enke from AHEAD, LLC , AHEAD, and Patrick Loetel and Jason Hardy, Perceptive Software for doing a great job at the session Utilization Nation Unleash Your Org’s Full Potential with Pro Serv Automation
  • Amazing Marissa Mayer Keynote – Gave amazing examples on leaderships : “Your job is to play defense.“ “The team is on offense…Your job is create a path, get the obstacles, the process, the bureaucracy, the nay-sayers out of the way and help people run as fast as they can.”
  • Peter Coffee and his soothing voice. His pre-keynote interviews with customers are the best. Peter will be speaking at a Fireside chat today at the Marriott at 12PM on Transforming the Back Office of a Customer Company
  • Attendees are loving our GoPro and giveaway idea! We are giving out 10 more GoPros in the next 2 days
  • Green Day and Blondie concert at AT&T park in pouring rain. During Green Day’s set, the PA system was actually wrecked. Even though there was NO sound for a bit and they had to play acoustic, the overall atmosphere and performance was simply amazing. Thanks UCSF Hospital and Salesforce Gala
