And they’re off! FinancialForce4Good “You’re Inspired” team heads for the hills
This October, a team from Certinia’s Harrogate office is taking part in the “You’re Inspired Challenge” to raise much needed funds for Saint Michael’s Hospice Harrogate. This year’s challenge is the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. Certinia will be participating through Certinia4Good, the philanthropic arm of the organization that allows Certinia employees to address social causes in their communities and improve the lives of others.
The “You’re Inspired Challenge” is an annual fundraising challenge that asks local business to turn a £100 investment loan into as much money as possible throughout the month of October. Certinia4Good was last year’s runners-up!
“This year we aim to top this, and what better way than getting a team to the top of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough?” says Chloe Stephenson, Scrum Product Owner, HCM, at Certinia, who plays a core part of the team effort to fundraise with this challenge. “Over 25 of our staff have signed up to complete the national 3 Peaks Challenge.”
Volunteers will be challenged to complete the 24 mile long hike, which includes 5,200 ft (1,585m) of ascent, within the targeted time of 12 hours. The team’s goal is to raise as much money as possible for St Michael’s within the month of October. The initial target for the walk is £6,000, with other events potentially pushing the team well over £10,000.>
This year Certinia4Good will be sponsored by a number of UK based companies including Mimecast, Storm Technologies, Somerford Associates and C-Stem. The challenge will take place on Thursday 12th October.
