Waves to Wine 2015: A beautiful day to save lives

It’s a beautiful day to save lives. Saturday, September 26th was a beautiful sunny day in Santa Rosa, not a cloud in sight. There were 170 members of our Salesforce & friends team cycling to put a stop to Multiple Sclerosis. The MS Northern California Chapter that puts on the Waves to Wine event helps aid 84,000 people affected by MS yearly.

Our team started the day at the cow palace in San Francisco at 7:00 am. Eighty to hundred miles later they finished the ride in Santa Rosa at the Salesforce & friends tent. After a day of cycling 80 – 100 miles you’d assume the riders would go home, run a hot bath and fall asleep in the comfort of their own bed– not a chance. These cyclists camped over night at the finish line then got up the next day and did it all over again.

Salesforce waves to was proud to join Salesforce & friends team once again this year, a team of employees, partners, friends and family as they return for their 10th year at waves to wine. This year the Salesforce & friends team raised over $210,000 dollars to fight MS.’s own VP of Finance, Jim Carney, raised over $2,650 alone.

If you don’t already know, “Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. The cause of MS is still unknown – scientists believe the disease is triggered by as-yet-unidentified environmental factor(s) in a person who is genetically predisposed to respond.” This is why it is so important to continue supporting the MS Foundation so that scientists can find a cure.

The Salesforce & Friends team started 10 years ago and each year this team grows in both participants and dollars raised. As any team, we are great alone but so much better together. In 2015 the Salesforce & friends team will exceed 1 million dollars raised in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis.
