CODA 2go wins 1st award!
We are proud to report that CODA 2go Online Help has won its first award – best instructional documentation in this year’s UK Technical Communication Awards, organised by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC). The online help facility provides a sequence of topics to help administrators set up CODA 2go, and provides conceptual, procedural and reference topics to make it easy to use. The help facility also enables users to filter for topics relevant to their specific job function. The awards winners were announced last night at the gala dinner of the ISTC Conference 2008, the largest UK event for technical communicators. We expect it to be the first of many…
The Online Help took around 90 days’ to complete in all, and was voted the winner based on its well-structured, well-presented and well-written format. CODA 2go Online Help is context-sensitive and integrates seamlessly with the Salesforce.com Help. We have used the same style sheet as Salesforce so that the CODA 2go Help has the same look and feel as the other products on the Force.com platform. It was written using Madcap Flare by one author working within an Agile development ‘scrum’ team for seven months. Both the software and Help were written as an iterative process, with deliverables of both being available at the end of each two week ‘sprint’. Delivered as WebHelp, it is deployed when the service is downloaded and is held centrally on a server and available on demand. Congratulations go to the CODA 2go development team, who have worked very hard to deliver an industry leading SaaS application and industry leading Online Help to support it. Endorsement from the ISTC confirms that we have developed an effective information source.
