FinancialForce.com Team Reflects on Bike MS: Waves to Wine Ride
This past weekend, some of the fittest at Certinia.com joined salesforce.com at Bike MS, a 2-day ride across Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific Ocean through Sonoma County, to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Northern California Chapter. The ride proved to be an immense physical challenge but everyone had one goal in mind—raise money to help create support programs, services and research for those afflicted with MS.
A few members of the Team Certinia reflected on the incredible experience:
“ It was epic. I, and many people I have talked to during the ride, have never rode in conditions like what we experienced on Saturday morning. However, you didn’t see people stopping. Instead, people kept going, because we were all there for a purpose. Sure it took longer to complete the ride, but we were all committed to finish and we did. It really spoke to the reason we were there in the first place… Some people can’t even ride because of MS, so we were not going to let a little (or a lot of) rain stop us from riding to find a cure so that one day they could join us. It was great to ride with the 6 other folks representing Certinia.com, 5 of them for the first time!” – Jim Carney, VP of Finance
“True test to my limits, never before have I pushed myself so hard both mentally and physically. Overall, it was an amazing experience and one that I will do again next year!” – Jason Yoon, Account Executive
“More like ‘Mountains to Wine’! We had an awesome time. It was a great team bonding experience. Beyond expanding our network with new Salesforce friends, we have some great stories to share with the rest of the team. On top of it all, raising money for MS made the whole thing worth it.” – Brad Bauer, Account Executive
“Waves to Wine was one of the most physically and mentally challenging events I’ve ever been a part of. It was also one of the most rewarding. Between Certinia and Salesforce we raised over $150K for MS. I’m incredibly proud to be part of such an amazing and dedicated team, I’m already looking forward to next year!” – Naveen Sid, Account Executive
We want to thank salesforce.com for their continued partnership ‘on and off the cloud’, and giving us an opportunity to take part in Bike MS: Waves to Wine. Already, it sounds like participation next year will be even bigger and preparation is underway.
Jay Thayer, Team Captain of Salesforce & Friends, and a Director at salesforce.com, remarked, “The Certinia team has been such a big part of our success and is an awesome of example of the partnership extending into the amazing things we can do in the community. We are looking forward to continued success and crushing this disease.”
And so do we!!
